Folk Music Carries the American War Effort

While the Allies were fighting the Axis forces around the globe, the resistance movement was strong musically in the folk voices of the American South.

Woody Guthrie, well known for his vocal support of the war effort, and the sticker on his guitar that read: "This Machine Kills Fascists."


  

Leadbelly also did a moving protest song against Hitler and rise of fascism in Europe at the time.



Folk singer, Ozzie Waters, singing about the war effort with some light-hearted humor.
